HAZARDS REMAIN AFTER TORNADO

MAY 26, 2024 - ROGERS, AR

Hazards remain throughout the Rogers area long after a tornado swept through town shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning. People in Benton County need to be extra vigilant for hazards in the coming days as emergency crews are at full capacity.

One motorist found themselves trapped in high voltage lines after turning off of Hudson Road onto Beckaert Dr, entangling the vehicle. The driver was trapped but uninjured while emergency and electric crews responded to rescue the driver while he remained inside. Officials state that if you find yourself in the same situation exiting the vehicle can be fatal.

Governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders declared an emergency for the areas impacted by these storms which continued along the Arkansas/Missouri border. Many other types of hazards will be present in the following days as local, state and federal authorities arrive to assist with the damage.
