CHILD SHOT EARLY NEW YEARS DAY

JANUARY 1, 2024 - SPRINGDALE, AR

One hour into the new year a thirteen year old boy was fighting for his life after being shot in the throat at close range.

Neighbors on Memory Lane initially thought it was fireworks but were quick to realize what truly happened.

Springdale Fire and Police both responded and transported the victim emergent to a local trauma center.

Several hours later another juvenile was arrested without incident. Initial reports state that the shooting is believed to be accidental.
