SEVERE SNOW CAUSES PROBLEMS FOR ALL

JANUARY 10, 2025 - OTTAWA COUNTY, OK

The first heavy snow of the season swept through the Ozarks leaving treacherous roads and low temperatures throughout the region. The storm brought icy conditions that caused even the best of our professionals to a crippling stand-still.

Multiple reports of highway closures, stranded motorists and plow crews losing control were made in the first day of the storm. Pictured below is an Ottawa County, Oklahoma plow crew that found themselves teetering in a ditch after gravity pulled them off of a banked curve.

If you are required to drive in these conditions, plan extra time for travel and always give space for anybody working on the roadways to include our plows, law enforcement, rescue personnel, tow operators and even stranded motorists. Moving over and/or slowing down is law in most states. You too can save a life.
