VEHICLE HITS BUILDING DURING ALLEGED ASSUALT
JULY 10, 2024 - MONETT, MO
Monett Police responded to an alleged assault call that resulted in a Jeep Grand Cherokee colliding with the former Monett Times building in the 500 block of Broadway this evening.
Monett Fire Department and Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District staged in the area until Police could secure the scene.
According to witnesses on scene, the vehicle attempted to pick up a party involved in the assault and collided with the building while attempting to leave the scene. Police were not able to confirm the details at the time of the incident as multiple parties left the area prior to officers arriving.
Patients from the vehicle were treated on scene and nobody was transported by ambulance. No visible damage was observed on the building, however the vehicle inoperable and a private tow was arranged. All responding units cleared the scene within an hour.
