ANDERSON FIGHTS FIRE AND ICE

JANUARY 11, 2025 - ANDERSON, MO

Frigid temperatures didn't keep a fire from breaking out in a vacant home just before 1:00AM in the 1500 block of State Highway 76, near Hobbs Rd.

According to the Noel Fire Department, "Fire personnel arrived on the scene and found a vacant structure, heavily involved in fire." With no nearby access to fire hydrants, a shuttle operation was implemented to assist in battling the blaze. Additional assistance was provided by Missouri State Highway Patrol, McDonald County Sherrif's Office and New-Mac Electric Co-Op.

Through the duration of the fire, Highway 76 was closed until crews cleared the scene around 4:00AM.

At this time, no cause has been determined and thankfully no injuries were reported.
